Welcome to Diegueno!

Songs fill the air, laughter echoes, and happiness illuminates the children’s eyes as they ascend and descend the winding staircases of our treehouse school. Collectively, our multi-talented teachers create this rare magic because at Diegueno, celebrating childhood is our shared calling. We are deeply rooted in character-building and confidence boosting opportunities where class sizes are small, teaching teams are departmentalized, and outdoor learning is maximized. For over 50 years, we have been a vibrant and inclusive community where our ordinary is extraordinary. 

Across campus, we feel lighthearted electricity in the air, for we have created an environment where positive energy flows abundantly, where staff members partner harmoniously, and where passion and compassion intersect. Diegueno is like nowhere else. We are small but our goals are expansive. Our children learn to look beyond themselves as they become part of a larger global purpose. Through intentional projects to build a better world, our children learn critical thinking, problem-solving, empathy, and collaboration. 

People fully appreciate the gift of a Diegueno education in retrospect when their children are well prepared for school, when their confidence is soaring, then later when all doors are open to a glorious future. We believe in the power of Diegueno: our home away from home that will always welcome us with open arms.
