Outdoor Education

At Diegueno Country School, we recognize that students thrive when given time to move, explore, and connect with the outdoors. Every day, students enjoy a 30-minute morning break and a 30-minute outdoor lunch, followed by another 30 minutes of organized sports, games, or free play. Fresh air and movement fuel both focus and creativity, enhancing the learning experience. Beyond these dedicated breaks, our teachers embrace the outdoors as an extension of the classroom—whether leading nature walks, conducting lessons under the open sky, or incorporating active learning through grammar scavenger hunts and brain breaks. By integrating outdoor education into daily life, we encourage well-being, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
